Martin Luther King Jr. Day of Service

We always love spending time at our local college campus at the University of South Carolina - Beaufort. They have a wonderful Best Buddies program that several of our Rays really enjoy participating in. The adults are paired with a student buddy and the group spend time together doing both fun and service type events around town and on campus.

The Rays love spending time with their buddies, several of whom have become regular Pockets volunteers. It’s always incredible to see young people go above and beyond to make a difference in the lives of others.

USCB recently hosted a Day of Service in honor of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. and several of our adults and their buddies took part in the event. We always try to capitalize on opportunities to serve and support our local community as this is one of the cornerstones PFS was built on, so we loved having a presence at the day.

They cleaned up around campus and completed several fun service crafts and projects, all while having fun with their friends and experiencing the joy of giving back. A day well spent indeed!
