Nerve to Serve
A few years ago we had the pleasure of being a part of First Presbyterian Church HHI’s Nerve to Serve Camp.
This unique camp is for middle school students and emphasizes the importance of acts of service, particularly within our local community.
Campers spend the week volunteering, helping and being of service in whatever way they can to various community groups and non-profits.
We had a wonderful first experience with these sweet campers and were thrilled when asked to participate again this year.
Excitingly, there were a large number of campers, so we decided to divide into groups, sending some into the kitchen to help the Rays make a few batches of our famous Peanut Butter Putters and having the rest help us stuff eggs for our ongoing project with The Island Recreation Center.
The Rays loved getting to know the campers and working alongside them.
And the campers had lots of wonderful questions about Pockets Full of Sunshine.
The whole day was a joy. We value our relationship with First Presbyterian Church, of which we are an Outreach Mission, and there isn’t much that brings us more joy then seeing a glimpse of the next generation of kindness and world changers!
